PROTOCOL FOR STRIKE TEAM REQUEST &
RESPONSE
|
1. |
The Community requesting the
Strike Team will do so after
their normal mutual aid plan
has been utilized, unless
the incident type / size
requires an immediate
response of a Strike Team |
| |
|
|
2. |
The community requesting the
Strike team is responsible
for designating the staging
area and providing
directions to the staging
area or fire location.
Whenever possible, the
requesting community will
have a fire department
office / official waiting
for the Strike Team to
arrive on scene. That fire
department official will
appraise the Strike Team
Commander of the incident
scope and will transmit a
message to the Incident
Commander that the Strike
Team Commander is on scene. |
| |
|
|
3. |
The responding communities
are responsible for knowing
what equipment or alternate
equipment to send for each
type of Strike Team. All
available apparatus listed
on the Strike Team Run Card
shall be sent upon request,
unless that unit is out of
service at the time of the
call. In the event that
apparatus is not available
at the time of the call, the
responding community shall,
whenever possible, fill in
with apparatus of the same
type. If alternate
apparatus is not available,
the community shall notify
the Control Point
dispatcher, who will contact
the communities on that
particular Strike Team to
see if they can fill in with
the appropriate apparatus.
If those communities cannot
fill in with the appropriate
apparatus, the Control Point
Dispatcher shall contact
another community, not on
the Strike Team, to see if
they can fill in for the
assigned apparatus. |
| |
|
|
4 |
Communication between
responding Strike Team units
should be kept to a minimum
on 33.62 MHz. The Strike
Team Commander, or Alternate
Commander, may designate a
different frequency for
inter- team communication
enroute to the fire or
staging area.
